The town was recently awarded $230,870 grant from the Texas Department of Agriculture to reconstruct Orange Lane from Hibiscus to FM 510.
Town officials recently hired an engineer to start drawing the construction plans to reconstruct Orange Lane to go out for bids. For doing this in-house, the TDA will be reimbursing the town $20,000 for these services.
Other roads that have bee repaired with grant money include Ebony Lane, Mesquite Drive, Palm Blvd, Palo Blanco, Hibiscus and Tangelo Court.
The town is identifying the remaining streets, that need to be reconstructed, to include them in this year’s grant application, said Laguna Vista City Manager Rolando Vela
